KSB Home Improvements, LLC is a family owned and operated business in Wisconsin. We specialize in quality work for a reasonable price with great customer service. We like to believe that we are a different kind of home improvement company.

The difference that sets us apart is that we are not afraid to give the homeowner options. We can adjust to whatever the customer wants. We are one of the only companies that will give you two options in the improvement of your home.

1)  You can choose the product you want for your home at any local lumber yard, big box store, or window manufacturer. Give us a call, we can measure the product for you*, and you can order the product yourself. Rest assured that we fully guarantee the measured sizes**. When the product comes in we can do the quality installation of that product for you at a reasonable price.

2) We can offer you a wide range of products to eliminate the work of you going somewhere to buy the product yourself. We can supply the product at a reasonable price, and do a quality installation of that product for you.

Whichever you choose, we guarantee a quality job done. Please contact us for any of your home improvement needs.

* A $50 measure fee will be due at the time of measure to cover cost of time and fuel.  If you choose to have the work done by KSB, a $20 credit will be applied to the final cost.

** Size guarantee only applies if KSB installs the merchandise.

             WINDOWS 101
 Industry terms and their meanings

Double Hung - A window that operates up and down.
Slider - A window that operates side to side.
Casement - A window that hinges on the side, or the top.
Hopper - A window that the top tilts inward. Primarily a basement window.
Low e glass - Reduces the heat transfer through the glass. This is more important for the summer months. The less heat that is transferred keeps your house cooler, and reduces energy bills.
Argon Gas - Filling the area between the two panes of glass minimizes the convection currents within the space, which reduces the overall heat transfer between the inside and outside.
U factor - The rate of heat loss in a window.
The lower the number the better. 0.30 or less is required for the 2009 tax credit.
Solar heat gain coefficient - The fraction of solar radiation that is transmitted through the window. The number will be somewhere between 0 and 1. The closer to 0 the better.
.30 or less is required for the 2009 tax credit.
Visable transmittance - The amount of visible light that is transmitted through a window. The number will be somewhere between 0 and 1. Closer to 1 is desired to maximize the daylight allowed through.
